The Centenary was issued each year from 1921 to 1931 and again from 1944 to 1947. Demand was strong for the currency as an issue of ingots, and then the Mint of the City of Mexico continued to produce 50 pesos gold with the date of the 1947 to 1972 and at the end of the ’90s and early 2000s. Also, in 1943, and on different dates in the ’50s and ’60s were issued commemorative medals without the denomination of 50 pesos.
The standard weight is 41,67 grams, with a diameter of about 36 mm. However, there may be small variations depending on the year of minting, and the mint. Most of the Centenary has a purity of 900 thousandths, or 90% pure gold, and 10% alloy.
